## Method

Days until Saturday = (6 − the start date’s weekday + 7) mod 7, with Sunday = 0, Monday = 1, …, Saturday = 6.

## Assumptions

- On a Saturday, the count is 0; the Saturday after is 7 days away.
- The start date itself is not counted: from the day before, the count is 1.
- Dates are calendar days with no time of day, so a time zone or a daylight-saving change never adds or loses a day.
- Start dates from January 1, 1900 to December 31, 2400 work.

From Monday, 5; from Tuesday, 4; from Wednesday, 3; from Thursday, 2; from Friday, 1; from Saturday, 0; from Sunday, 6. On a Saturday the count is 0, and the Saturday after is 7 days away.

### What if today is Saturday?

Then the count is 0, because the next Saturday on or after today is today. The page also shows the Saturday after it, 7 days later.

### How many Saturdays are in a year?

A year of 365 days is 52 weeks and 1 day, so the weekday of January 1 comes 53 times and every other weekday 52 times; in a leap year, the weekdays of January 1 and 2 come 53 times. 2026 has 52 Saturdays, and 2027 has 52.
