Time zone meeting planner

Pick up to five time zones, a date and your working hours. The planner finds the time when everyone is within working hours and shows it on each zone’s clock.

Your numbers

Overlap
2 hours

On October 19, 2026, working hours of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM overlap for 2 hours in every chosen time zone.

Your time zone
New York (US Eastern): Mon, Oct 19, 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM
Time zone 2
London, UK: Mon, Oct 19, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Time zone 3
Berlin, Germany: Mon, Oct 19, 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Answer for the example date Monday, October 19, 2026. It changes to today's date when the page loads.

Overlap: 2 hours. On October 19, 2026, working hours of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM overlap for 2 hours in every chosen time zone.

How to calculate

Finds the time on a date when the same working hours overlap in up to 5 time zones, and shows it on each zone’s clock.

Example with the default inputs (Your time zone New York (US Eastern), Time zone 2 London, UK, Time zone 3 Berlin, Germany, Time zone 4 None, Time zone 5 None, Date October 19, 2026, Working hours start 09:00, Working hours end 17:00) on the example date Monday, October 19, 2026: On October 19, 2026, working hours of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM overlap for 2 hours in every chosen time zone.

Method: For the date in your time zone, take your working hours as a span of moments (UTC); for every other zone, take its working hours on each of its local dates around that date; the overlap is the part of your span inside a span of every other zone, shown on each zone’s clock from the browser’s IANA time zone data.

  • Every zone uses the same working hours, from the start time to the end time on its own clock; the end must be later in the day than the start (no overnight shifts).
  • The date is a date in your time zone (the first zone). Your working hours that day are compared with every other zone’s working hours on any of its own dates, so another zone’s part of the overlap can fall on the day before or after, which its date shows.
  • A zone’s working hours on a date run from the first moment its clocks show the start time that day to the first moment after that when they show the end time. When the clocks skip a time (spring forward), the moment they jump stands in for it; when they repeat an hour (fall back), the working hours include the repeat.
  • Weekends and holidays are not left out: check the weekday shown for each zone.
  • Each zone shows the overlap on its own clock as “Mon, Oct 19, 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM”, with the end date too when the overlap crosses midnight on that clock, and several overlaps joined by “; ”. The overlap length is in hours and minutes (“2 hours 30 minutes”, “0 minutes” when there is none).
  • Offsets and daylight saving come from the browser’s IANA time zone data (tzdata 2026a when this page was checked). Dates from 2000 to 2040 work.

How it works

The page takes up to five time zones (the first is yours; zones 2 to 5 may be None), a date in your time zone (today unless you change it), and working hours: a start and an end time, the same for every zone on its own clock. The end must be later in the day than the start; otherwise there is no answer: “The working hours must end later in the day than they start.” Dates from January 1, 2000 to December 31, 2040 work.

  1. A zone’s working hours on one of its dates run from the first moment (UTC) at which its clocks show the start time on that date to the first moment after that at which they show the end time. When the clocks skip the time (spring forward), the moment of the jump stands in for it. When the clocks repeat an hour (fall back), the start is its first showing, so the repeated hour counts twice.
  2. Your span is your zone’s working hours on the date.
  3. For every other zone, take its working hours on each of its local dates from 2 days before to 2 days after the date, and keep the parts of your span that lie inside one of them. Zone offsets differ by at most 26 hours, so no other date can overlap.
  4. Overlap is the total length of what is left, in whole hours and minutes: “2 hours”, “2 hours 30 minutes”, “1 hour 1 minute”, “45 minutes”, or “0 minutes”. A count of 1 is singular, and 0 minutes are left out after the hours.
  5. Each zone shows its name as the list below writes it, a colon, and the overlap on its own clock: “London, UK: Mon, Oct 19, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM” (the short weekday, the short month, the day, and the time on a 12-hour clock). A span that ends on another date on that clock shows both dates (“Mon, Oct 19, 11:00 PM to Tue, Oct 20, 1:00 AM”), and two or more separate spans are joined by “; ”. Parts that touch are one span. For example, Nuuk’s clocks jump from 11:00 PM on March 28, 2026 to midnight. So its working hours of 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM on March 28 end at the moment those of March 29 start, and the two show as one span.
  6. No overlap: when nothing is left, the overlap is “0 minutes” and No overlap reads “No time on [the date, like Monday, October 19, 2026] is between [start, like 9:00 AM] and [end, like 5:00 PM] in every zone. Try longer working hours or fewer zones.” The zones’ own rows are not shown. Nothing is left also when your own working hours fall in a time the clocks skip, such as 2:00 AM to 3:00 AM on the night US clocks spring forward, even with no other zone.

Weekends and holidays are not left out. Offsets and daylight saving rules come from your browser’s IANA time zone data (the examples were checked against tzdata 2026a), so a rule change reaches the page with a browser update.

Worked examples by hand

New York, London and Berlin, Monday, October 19, 2026, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. New York is on EDT (UTC−04:00), London on BST (UTC+01:00) and Berlin on CEST (UTC+02:00). In UTC the working hours are 13:00 to 21:00 in New York, 8:00 to 16:00 in London and 7:00 to 15:00 in Berlin. All three hold 13:00 to 15:00 UTC: 2 hours, which is 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM in New York, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in London and 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM in Berlin.

New York and India, the same day, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. India is on UTC+05:30, so its working hours are 3:30 to 11:30 UTC, all before New York’s 13:00: 0 minutes. With 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, New York holds 12:00 to 24:00 UTC and India 2:30 to 14:30 UTC, which share 12:00 to 14:30: 2 hours 30 minutes, 8:00 to 10:30 AM in New York and 5:30 to 8:00 PM in India.

Los Angeles and Sydney, Monday, October 19, 2026. Los Angeles (PDT, UTC−07:00) works 16:00 to 24:00 UTC. Sydney (AEDT, UTC+11:00) works Tuesday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, which is 22:00 Monday to 6:00 Tuesday UTC. They share 22:00 to 24:00 UTC: 2 hours, Mon, Oct 19, 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM in Los Angeles and Tue, Oct 20, 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM in Sydney.

New York and Toronto, Sunday, March 8, 2026, 2:30 AM to 4:00 AM. The clocks jump from 2:00 AM to 3:00 AM that night, so 2:30 AM does not exist and the working hours start at the jump, 3:00 AM EDT, and end at 4:00 AM EDT: 1 hour, “Sun, Mar 8, 3:00 AM to 4:00 AM” on both clocks.

New York and Toronto, Sunday, November 1, 2026, 1:00 AM to 2:00 AM. The clocks go back from 2:00 AM to 1:00 AM that night. The working hours start at the first 1:00 AM (EDT, 5:00 UTC) and end at the first 2:00 AM after it, which comes after the repeated hour (EST, 7:00 UTC): 2 hours, shown as “Sun, Nov 1, 1:00 AM to 2:00 AM”.

Other questions people ask

How do I find a meeting time across time zones?

Pick your own time zone first, then the others, the date of the meeting and the working hours. The page shows how long everyone’s working hours overlap and the overlap on each clock. On October 19, 2026, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in New York, London and Berlin overlap for 2 hours: 9:00 to 11:00 AM in New York, 2:00 to 4:00 PM in London and 3:00 to 5:00 PM in Berlin.

What if there is no overlap?

The overlap is 0 minutes, and the page says so. Try longer working hours or fewer zones. New York and India have no overlap from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but with working hours from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM they overlap for 2 hours 30 minutes: 8:00 to 10:30 AM in New York, 5:30 to 8:00 PM in India.

Why can the overlap fall on another day?

The date is a date in your time zone, and a zone far east or west of you may already be on the next day or still on the day before. From Los Angeles on Monday, October 19, 2026, the overlap with Sydney is 3:00 to 5:00 PM Monday in Los Angeles and 9:00 to 11:00 AM Tuesday in Sydney. Check the weekday shown for each zone: weekends are not left out.

Does the planner handle daylight saving time?

Yes. Each zone’s offset on the date comes from your browser’s time zone data, so the overlap moves when one country changes its clocks before another. On a day when the clocks spring forward, a start time that does not exist starts the working hours at the moment of the jump; when they fall back, the repeated hour counts twice.

Why do New York and India rarely overlap in office hours?

India is 9 hours 30 minutes ahead of New York while New York is on daylight saving time, and 10 hours 30 minutes ahead in winter. So 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in New York is 6:30 PM to 2:30 AM in India in summer: after the Indian working day.

Can each zone have its own working hours?

No. Every zone uses the same hours on its own clock, which is the usual way to look for a meeting slot. To allow one office an early start, widen the hours and read that office’s times.
