How to calculate
Looks up the calories (kcal) in a Starbucks drink by drink, size, and milk, from Starbucks Ireland nutrition data, and its share of a 2,000-calorie day.
Example with the default inputs (Drink Cappuccino, Size Tall, Milk Whole): A Tall Cappuccino with whole milk has 135 calories, 6.8% of a 2,000-calorie day.
Method: Looks up the row for the drink, size, and milk in the Starbucks Ireland dataset; share of the day = kcal ÷ 2,000 × 100.
- Calories are the Starbucks Ireland figures for the standard recipe. Syrups, whipped cream, extra shots, and other changes are not included.
- Drinks made without milk ignore the milk choice.
- The 2,000-calorie day is the FDA reference for general nutrition advice; your own needs differ.

How it works
Pick a drink, a size, and a milk. The calculator looks up the matching row in the Starbucks Ireland nutrition data: 119 drinks in 7 categories (Cold Coffee, Espresso Drinks, Frappuccino, Hot Chocolates, Hot Teas, Refreshment, and Tea Latte), 1,777 rows in all.
- Calories are the kilocalories (kcal) Starbucks lists for that drink, size, and milk.
- Share of a 2,000-calorie day = calories ÷ 2,000 × 100. The FDA uses 2,000 calories a day for general nutrition advice.
- Drinks made without milk (such as an Americano or a hot tea) ignore the milk choice.
- Not every drink comes in every size or with every milk. If the combination is not on the menu, the calculator says which sizes or milks the drink comes in.
About the data
The data is the Starbucks Ireland nutrition information, captured on 2025-07-04. Milk names follow the Irish menu: whole, semi-skimmed, skimmed, almond, coconut, oat, and soy. Calories are for the standard recipe, with no extra syrups, shots, or whipped cream. Drink names are exactly as captured, so old links still work. One name keeps a typing slip from the capture: the Tiramisu Cream Iced Latte (not the Blonde or Decaf one) has two spaces between "Iced" and "Latte".
Assumptions
- The menu and recipes can change after the capture date, and they differ between countries.
- Your own daily energy need may be more or less than 2,000 calories.

Other questions people ask
How accurate are the calorie counts in this Starbucks calculator?
The calories come from official Starbucks Ireland nutrition data (https://www.starbucks.ie/nutrition), captured in July 2025. Recipes and sizes differ between countries, so a US or UK menu can list different numbers. Actual calorie counts may also vary due to customizations and preparation. For the most accurate information, always refer to the nutritional information at your local Starbucks.
Which Starbucks drink has the lowest calories?
In this data, the lowest are unsweetened teas and black coffee: a Tall Classic Shaken Iced Black Tea has 0 kcal and an Americano has 7 to 14 kcal depending on size. For milk-based drinks, almond milk and skimmed milk give the fewest calories; a Tall Cappuccino is 57 kcal with almond milk and 135 kcal with whole milk.
What's the difference between Starbucks drink sizes?
The sizes are Short, Tall, Grande, and Venti; most drinks here come in Tall, Grande, and Venti, and only a few in Short. Larger sizes contain more of all ingredients, so calories go up with size, though not always in exact proportion (an Americano is 7, 11, and 14 kcal).
Are Starbucks plant-based milk options lower in calories?
It depends on the milk. In this data almond milk gives the fewest calories of any milk, and oat milk is close to whole milk: a Grande Caramel Frappuccino is 323 kcal with almond, 357 with oat, and 362 with whole milk.
What are the highest calorie Starbucks drinks?
In this data the highest are the Venti hot chocolates with whole milk: Hot White Chocolate (511 kcal), Iced White Chocolate (501 kcal), and Signature Hot Chocolate (499 kcal).
How do I reduce calories in my Starbucks drink?
Choose a smaller size, pick almond or skimmed milk instead of whole milk, skip whipped cream, reduce or skip syrups and sauces, or choose a black coffee or Americano as a base.
What's the difference between a Latte, Cappuccino, and Flat White?
Latte: More steamed milk, less foam, creamier texture. Cappuccino: Equal parts espresso, steamed milk, and milk foam. Flat White: Similar to latte but with microfoam and typically made with ristretto shots. The texture and coffee strength differ; check the calories for each with the same size and milk.
