How to calculate
Counts the days from today, or any date you choose, to the next Friday, with its date and the Friday after it.
Example with the default inputs (Count from September 30, 2026) on the example date Wednesday, September 30, 2026: From September 30, 2026, there are 2 days until Friday, October 2, 2026.
Method: Days until Friday = (5 − the start date’s weekday + 7) mod 7, with Sunday = 0, Monday = 1, …, Saturday = 6.
- On a Friday, the count is 0; the Friday after is 7 days away.
- The start date itself is not counted: from the day before, the count is 1.
- Dates are calendar days with no time of day, so a time zone or a daylight-saving change never adds or loses a day.
- Start dates from January 1, 1900 to December 31, 2400 work.

From Monday, 4; from Tuesday, 3; from Wednesday, 2; from Thursday, 1; from Friday, 0; from Saturday, 6; from Sunday, 5. On a Friday the count is 0, and the Friday after is 7 days away.
What if today is Friday?
Then the count is 0, because the next Friday on or after today is today. The page also shows the Friday after it, 7 days later.
How many Fridays are in a year?
A year of 365 days is 52 weeks and 1 day, so the weekday of January 1 comes 53 times and every other weekday 52 times; in a leap year, the weekdays of January 1 and 2 come 53 times. 2026 has 52 Fridays, and 2027 has 53.
How are the days until Friday counted?
From the start date (today, unless you change it) to the next Friday, without counting the start date, in calendar days. Weekends and holidays count like any other day.
