What are my fantasy points?

Type a player’s passing, rushing and receiving stats. The fantasy points calculator adds up the points with Yahoo’s default scoring, shows standard, half PPR and PPR side by side, and lets you type your league’s own settings.

How to calculate

Adds up a player’s fantasy football points from passing, rushing and receiving stats, in standard, half PPR or PPR scoring, with every league setting editable.

Example with the default inputs (Scoring Half PPR, Passing yards 250, Passing touchdowns 2, Interceptions thrown 1, Rushing yards 20, Rushing touchdowns 0, Receptions 0, Receiving yards 0, Receiving touchdowns 0, 2-point conversions 0, Fumbles lost 0, Change the scoring settings No): Your player scored 19 fantasy points.

Method: Points = passing yards ÷ 25 + 4 × passing TDs − 1 × interceptions + (rushing yards + receiving yards) ÷ 10 + 6 × (rushing + receiving TDs) + points per reception × receptions + 2 × 2-point conversions − 2 × fumbles lost, with the league’s own numbers when typed.

  • The default settings are Yahoo’s default league: half a point per reception and fractional yardage points.
  • Standard scoring gives 0 points per reception, half PPR 0.5, PPR 1; the other settings stay the same.
  • Whole increments give a whole point for each full increment only, rounded toward zero for negative yards.
  • Return touchdowns, bonuses and defense or kicker points are not counted.

How it works

Points for one player’s game, each part from the stats you type and the scoring settings:

  • Passing = passing yards ÷ passing yards per point + passing TDs × points per passing TD + interceptions × points per interception.
  • Rushing = rushing yards ÷ rushing and receiving yards per point + rushing TDs × points per TD.
  • Receiving = receptions × points per reception + receiving yards ÷ rushing and receiving yards per point + receiving TDs × points per TD.
  • Other = 2-point conversions × points per 2-point conversion + fumbles lost × points per fumble lost.
  • Fantasy points = passing + rushing + receiving + other.

Standard, Half PPR and PPR totals are the same sum with 0, 0.5 and 1 point per reception.

The default settings are Yahoo’s default league:

SettingDefault
Passing yards per point25
Passing touchdown4
Interception thrown−1
Rushing and receiving yards per point10
Rushing or receiving touchdown6
Reception0.5 (half PPR)
2-point conversion2
Fumble lost−2
Yardage pointsfractional

When Change the scoring settings is off, these defaults are used, whatever was typed before. When it is on, the typed settings are used.

Whole increments. Each yardage part is yards ÷ yards per point, cut to a whole number toward zero: 99 yards at 10 a point are 9 points, −15 yards are −1.

Every number is used as the exact decimal you typed, and the sum is exact, so 87 ÷ 10 + 6 + 2 is exactly 16.7.

Rules

  • Yards are whole numbers from −200 to 1,000. Touchdowns, interceptions, 2-point conversions and fumbles lost are whole numbers from 0 to 30; receptions from 0 to 50.
  • Yards per point from 1 to 100; points per touchdown, interception, fumble and 2-point conversion from −20 to 20.

Output format. Points show with at most 2 decimals, rounded half up from the exact value.

Worked examples by hand

A quarterback, half PPR. 300 ÷ 25 = 12; 3 × 4 = 12; 1 × −1 = −1; 20 ÷ 10 = 2. Passing 23, rushing 2, total 25.

A running back. Rushing 100 ÷ 10 + 6 = 16. Receiving 30 ÷ 10 = 3, plus the receptions. Fumble −2. Standard 17; half PPR 17 + 4 × 0.5 = 19; PPR 17 + 4 = 21.

A receiver, standard. 87 ÷ 10 = 8.7; touchdown 6; 2-point catch 2. Total 16.7; half PPR 16.7 + 3.5 = 20.2; PPR 23.7.

Whole increments. 99 rushing yards: 9.9 → 9. −15 receiving yards: −1.5 → −1. Total 8.

Other questions people ask

How are fantasy football points calculated?

With default scoring, 1 point per 25 passing yards, 4 per touchdown pass, −1 per interception, 1 point per 10 rushing or receiving yards, 6 per rushing or receiving touchdown, 2 per 2-point conversion and −2 per fumble lost, plus any points per reception.

What is the difference between standard, half PPR and PPR?

Only the points per reception: 0 in standard, 0.5 in half PPR and 1 in PPR (points per reception). A running back with 4 catches scores 2 more points in half PPR and 4 more in PPR than in standard.

How many points is a 300-yard, 3-touchdown game for a quarterback?

With 1 interception and 20 rushing yards: 300 ÷ 25 = 12, plus 3 × 4 = 12, minus 1, plus 20 ÷ 10 = 2, for 25 points.

What are fractional yardage points?

Each yard counts: 87 receiving yards at 10 yards a point are 8.7 points. With whole increments, only each full 10 yards counts, so 87 yards are 8 points. Yahoo’s default league uses fractional points.

Does my league score interceptions as −1 or −2?

It depends on the league: Yahoo’s default is −1, and many leagues use −2. Turn on Change the scoring settings and type your league’s number.

Are return touchdowns, kickers and defenses counted?

No. The page scores passing, rushing, receiving, 2-point conversions and fumbles lost for one offensive player.
